Over the past several months I have been doing a lot of praying and soul searching. This coming March will be 16 years since I photographed my first wedding and now the day has come when I will be stepping away from photographing weddings. Some of you may have noticed that we have made a name change also from Expressions to Brandy Lynn Photography. We want to be a little more personal as we start focusing more on photographing families, newborns and portraits. Photography is so much more than a business it is a ministry to me. God equipped me and opened a door for me a long time ago and I have met so many wonderful people and I am so thankful for everyone. Each of you have left a part of you with me and taught me so much.
To all my brides that have already booked, no worries! I am excited to capture your day for you next year!
I have 9 wedding’s booked for next year and will not be taking anymore. Some have asked if I will never do another wedding, I can definitely say wedding’s will not be my main focus anymore. From time to time I would love to continue photographing elopements and working for adventurous couples who are unique in wedding planning.
I am at a time in my life where family is everything to me and I am completely consumed with capturing as many memories I can. I am watching my kids grow up so fast before my eyes and to be honest I am literally grasping every moment and trying to hold on to them. This next school year will be the last year that all my babies will be at home before I have one start going to college.
As far as photography I love real life, real stories, real moments. The perfect picture to me doesn’t have to be complete focus or with your little ones smiling. I want you to feel it, I want you to look at the picture and it completely consume you emotionally. I want you grandchildren to look at it and take them to that moment to where they feel like they were there. Mama, I want you to never forget the smiles, tears, dirty faces, mix matched outfits. I want you to see your children running through the yard in a picture and remember the sounds of them laughing and screaming.
I will also be offering photography classes to moms to learn how to capture their children in their own everyday moments. This will even cover how to see light so you take the best pictures even with you phone. I will also be working with teens who are interested in photography and using it to invest in my community. I have lots of dreams for my business and I believe photography is the foundation for it.
Pray for me as I make this change and stay tuned for lots of fun stuff ahead.
